The aircraft (1) has high-bypass-ratio fan engines placed side-by-side in a propulsion system (50) such that air inlet openings of the engines are located above a fuselage (10) along a longitudinal axis of the fuselage between two points. One of the points is located at a leading edge of a wing (20), where other point is located at a trailing edge of an aerodynamic root chord of the wing relative to the fuselage. The engines are placed such that outlets of nozzles are located between vertical fins (41a, 41b) of a vertical tail (40), above the fuselage in front of a rear end of the fuselage.
