The subassembly has circular shaped light sources (116-156) e.g. laser components, and circular shaped light receivers e.g. photodiodes, arranged in pairs. An opaque mask (110) is fixed perpendicular to a sectional plane (100), and has lenticular shaped transparent areas (111) whose elongation in direction perpendicular to the plane is higher than elongation in direction parallel to the plane. The areas have two convex sides (162, 163) e.g. circle segments, alternated with two concave sides (167, 168), where radius of curvature of the concave sides is less than that of the convex sides.
