The frame has a top crossbar (17), and a bottom crossbar (15) that includes a support face (15A) contacting a lower face of an opening (1) of a wooden framework wall (2) and an upper face (15B) forming a drip strip. The support face includes a groove forming a rabbet (15C) at an end of the support face and oriented towards exterior. The rabbet houses a sealing joint (18), and is recessed relative to a free end of the upper face of the bottom crossbar. The upper face is protected by a ribbed zinc-plated steel sheet (25) that extends toward back and beyond a back edge of the bottom crossbar.
