The method involves sampling and digitizing a digital voice under the form of a sequence of bytes representing samples of sound intensities. A predetermined byte is prohibited after the digitization phase. The predetermined byte is systematically replaced with another predetermined byte in the sequence of bytes, by a synchronization module (25). The former predetermined byte is used as a byte synchronizer for transmitted voice data and transmitted digital service data. An independent claim is also included for a communication system comprising two digital voice communication terminals that are connected via a digital connection.
