The device has magnetic excitation units (21) transmitting a magnetic excitation signal formed of successive sequences having pulses e.g. bipolar positive pulses, during functioning, to a reduced reciprocal influence zone of passive and active sub-assemblies (1, 2), where the pulses are produced with an iron excitation frequency. Detection units (22) determine electrical characteristics e.g. capacitance, of an electrical resonant circuit from an oscillatory damped sinusoidal signal that is selectively produced by the sub-assembly (1) based on each sequence of the excitation signal.
