The method involves mixing fuel oil and a vector that degrade heat under effect of magnetic field and agitating the mixture. The magnetic field is applied such that the mixture is heated and is separated into two sections, where one section is lighter than the other. The vector has particles presenting average diameter from 10 micrometer to 10 millimeter and from 100 micrometer to 1 millimeter. The vector is constituted of atoms and/or conducting molecules, particularly ferromagnetic molecules of iron and cobalt. An independent claim is also included for a device for degrading a fuel oil.
