The method involves determining whether a relative expression is an expression, whose evaluation depends on an evaluation of another expression. A context expression associated to the relative expression is obtained among previously processed expressions. A complied representation for the expression to be evaluated is constructed such that a complied representation of the relative expression comprises a link to a complied representation of the associated context expression. Independent claims are also included for the following: (1) a device for compiling expressions on a structured document (2) a device for evaluating expressions on a structured document (3) a computer program comprising instructions to perform a method for compiling expressions on a structured document (4) a computer program comprising instructions to evaluate expressions on a structured document (5) a representation complied by expressions, comprising a compiled expression.
