The device has a cracking head including a chuck jaw (2a) and another chuck jaw forming a reception axis of a vertical funnel. An actuating unit transmits alternative removal/connection movement to the former jaw (2a) with respect to the latter jaw, where the actuating unit is formed by arms (3), a push rod and a roller. Another actuating unit impresses shearing movement to the latter jaw with respect to the former jaw (2a) in a transverse direction at the axis of the funnel, where the latter actuating unit is formed by a crossbeam (6), a rotating disk (7) and a rotating shaft (8). Independent claims are also included for the following: (1) a walnut cracking machine comprising a fixed carrier frame integrated to an end against a wedge (2) a method for cracking a walnut.
