A method of operating a shopping complex 20 comprising a plurality of independent retail outlets 8, the method comprises operating a conveyor system 10 capable of conveying goods purchased in any one of the retail outlets to a plurality of designated locations 9a, 9b in the shopping complex; and in response to a purchase of goods at any one of the plurality of retail outlets 8 and at the request of the customer, conveying purchased goods using the conveyor system 10 to a designated 9a, 9b location in dependence upon the customer request.
