PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a treating agent for a synthetic fiber which imparts a lubricant property and antistatic property sufficient for the growth of laver spores, spinning, and formation of a net in the production process of a synthetic fiber for the laver net, and the synthetic fiber for the laver net to which the treating agent is imparted.;SOLUTION: This synthetic fiber-treating agent contains (A) 15-65 wt.% fatty acid ester, (B) 10-40 wt.% ester of ethylene oxide adduct of an aliphatic alcohol and a fatty acid, wherein the content ratio of (A)/(B) is (80/20) to (40/60), and the content of (C) nonionic surfactant is 20 to 50 wt.%, (D) polyether is 2-20 wt.%, and (E) anionic surfactant is 0.1-10 wt.%.
