PPROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a method for determining a propriety of modeling of satellite orbit. PSOLUTION: In a positioning system 1, a server system 3 seeks for a prediction orbit according to an approximation model for approximating the satellite orbit of GPS satellite SV, and calculates a parameter of the satellite orbit, based on the satellite prediction almanac which is included sequentially a prediction position of GPS satellite SV which is acquired from external system 2. Further, using the calculated orbit parameter, the prediction orbit sampling position (calculated position) which is future position of GPS satellite SV is calculated, and the modeling propriety of the satellite orbit is determined, based on the distances between the prediction position and the prediction orbit sampling position.
