PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a vertical magnetic recording system for reducing magnetization switching time at a writing magnetic pole using an auxiliary coil and a circuit.;SOLUTION: The vertical magnetic recording system includes a write head including: a main helical coil (write coil) and a main magnetic pole (writing magnetic pole) that induce a writing flux in a direction perpendicular to a recording layer of a magnetic recording medium; and an auxiliary coil and an auxiliary magnetic pole that introduce a magnetic flux in a direction oblique to the main axis of the writing magnetic pole, or the vertical axis. The auxiliary coil is preferably a helical coil wound around the auxiliary magnetic pole. An additional magnetic flux introduced nonparallel to the primary magnetization of the writing magnetic pole exerts a considerable torque on the magnetization of the writing magnetic pole, thereby allowing magnetization inversion to be facilitated. The electrical circuit is connected to the main coil and the auxiliary coil and switches the magnetization of the writing magnetic pole while generating the auxiliary magnetic flux.;COPYRIGHT: (C)2011,JPO&INPIT
