BROADCAST RECEIVER AND METHOD OF DETECTING EMERGENCY SPECIAL PROGRAM

PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To detect start of an emergency special program, that is broadcast upon the occurrence of any important event and to notify a user about the start of the program.;SOLUTION: An analyzer 41 analyzes and extracts additional information required for creating an electronic program guide (EPG) from a reception signal from a receiver. An EPG creator 42 creates the EPG using the additional information extracted by the analyzer 41. An EPG information holder 44 holds information of the created EPG. An EPG information comparator 43 compares former EPG information held in the EPG information holder 44 with newly created new EPG information and determines broadcast start of an emergency special program based on a result of comparing the new and former EPG information. When the broadcast start of the emergency special program is determined from the result of comparing the new and former EPG information, a notification setter 45 notifies a user about the start of the emergency special program.;COPYRIGHT: (C)2011,JPO&INPIT
