PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To extract a long straight line while maintaining a fine contour shape.;SOLUTION: An MFP includes: a contour pixel extraction means for extracting a plurality of first contour pixels forming the contour of an image from image data; a first linear approximation means (S01) for extracting a plurality of second contour pixels located at both ends of each of a plurality of second contour straight lines by linearly approximating the extracted first contour pixels with a first threshold; and second linear approximation means (S03-S15) for extracting a plurality of third contour pixels located at both ends of each of a plurality of third contour straight lines by linearly approximating the extracted second contour pixels with a second threshold larger than the first threshold.;COPYRIGHT: (C)2010,JPO&INPIT
