PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To produce a continuous carbon long fiber bundle free from defects caused by fuzz, fray or the like, having a smooth surface and having sufficiently excellent handleability by separating a carbon continuous fiber bundle in such a manner that fuzz is suppressed and bundling single fibers each other by carbon to carbon bond, and finally to provide a silicon carbide-coated carbon-carbon fiber composite wire rod using the same.;SOLUTION: Air is jetted to a carbon long fiber bundle obtained by assembling single fibers so that opening of the carbon long fiber bundle is performed to have a width of 2 to 10 times the diameter of the carbon long fiber bundle, the carbon long fibers subjected to opening are coated with a resin liquid, drying is performed so as to bundle the single fibers each other, thereafter, it is separated by an instrument with a blade shape so as to obtain a plurality of continuous carbon long fiber bundles with a diameter of 0.02 to 1 mm. The continuous carbon long fiber bundles are arranged in a vertical direction and are coated with a flexible thermosetting resin, thereafter, heating is performed and a resin component is carbonized so as to obtain a carbon-carbon fiber composite wire rod. The carbon-carbon fiber composite wire rod is coated with a silicon carbide precursor resin, and heating is performed so as to obtain a silicon carbide-coated carbon-carbon fiber composite wire rod.;COPYRIGHT: (C)2010,JPO&INPIT
