PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To allow a user to receive mail using a plurality of mailboxes for transmission and reception of mail over the Internet, and to continuously use the received mail after read, and also to provide a novel mechanism of distributing information using the mail transmission and reception method.;SOLUTION: A mail server 1 distributes mail set addressed to a specific recipient to a mailbox of the specific recipient, as well as mail with a specified theme to a mailbox set with the same theme. The distributed mail can be edited afterwards by a sender and recipients. As a novel mechanism of distributing information using the mail transmission and reception method and the transmission and reception system, a user can assign the same theme as that for mail to an advertising banner to increase the targeting capability of the advertising banner.
