ESTIMATION OF INSITU MECHANICAL PROPERTY OF SEDIMENT INCLUDING GAS HYDRATE

PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a method for constructing elastoplastic property correlations in multicomponent particulate systems.;SOLUTION: The method includes a step of obtaining parameters from geophysical data of a sediment-hydrate system, where the parameters include s_hyd and p_c, and where s_hyd is a hydrate saturation and p_c is a confining pressure. The method further includes a step of determining a Young's modulus (E) of the sediment-hydrate system using the parameters and a correlation, where the correlation is as follows, and where α=p_c/c and c is a scaling variable with dimensions of pressure.
