PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To simply and accurately evaluate the torsional natural frequency of a generator rotor when rotated in the stage of designing the generator rotor.;SOLUTION: In this method of evaluating the torsional natural frequency of the generator rotor, the modulus of transverse elasticity of a wedge-shaped member 4 is computed, based on the torsional rigidity ratio between a rotor core 1 and the wedge-shaped member 4, and the spring constants of a rotor core teeth part 3 and the wedge-shaped member 4 are computed, based on the modulus of transverse elasticity of the rotor core 1 and the rotor core 1 and the wedge-shaped member 4. Based on the spring constants of the rotor core teeth part 3 and the wedge-shaped member 4, the angular frequency of the rotor core part 3 and that of the wedge-shaped member 4 are computed, and these are composed.
