PPROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a continuous solid-liquid separation method which enables the solid-liquid separation of a solid-liquid mixed material continuously with high efficiency, and to provide a device therefor. PSOLUTION: In the specific gravity difference separation method of the solid-liquid mixed material using supercritical carbon dioxide and the like as a solvent for the specific gravity separation, the method comprises steps of supplying the solid-liquid mixed material from the middle stage of the lengthwise specific gravity separator, allowing the liquid and carbon dioxide in the solid-liquid mixed material to flow out from the upper stage of the specific gravity separator, recovering the solid matter downward, quantitatively supplying the supercritical carbon dioxide or liquid carbon dioxide to the upper part from the part more lower than the supply mouth of the solid-liquid mixed material of the specific gravity difference separator, circulating the fluid that has flowed out from the specific gravity difference separator to the supply mouth of the solid-liquid mixed material, mixing the solid-liquid mixed material with the circulating fluid and supplying the same to the specific gravity separator to continuously conduct the solid-liquid separation. The device therefor is also provided. Thus, the perfect solid-liquid separation process of the solid-liquid mixed material can be provided which prevents the liquid component of a coolant and the like from sedimenting.
