PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a method for controlling invaded insect pests, with which invasion of insects from the opening part of a building is reduced by taking advantage of phototaxis of insect and an apparatus for controlling invaded insect pests.;SOLUTION: A luminescent part 2a for attracting insects irradiates the opening part 12 with ultraviolet light as insect attracting light for attracting insects. The light distribution is narrow-angle light distribution, a door 11a and its very near neighborhood are irradiated and the circumference of a building 1 is not irradiated with the insect attracting light. The door 11a and its surroundings are subjected to reflection prevention treatment not reflecting the insect attracting light by coating with an ultraviolet light absorbent and the insect attracting light irradiating the door 11a and its very near neighborhood is not reflected to its surroundings.;COPYRIGHT: (C)2005,JPO&NCIPI
