PPROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide an agent for enhancing antiprotozoal action of ascofuranone and a new agent composition having antiprotozoal action containing the agent. PSOLUTION: An alkaloid having an indole skeleton which exists in a plant of the family Simaroubaceae is used as the agent for enhancing antiprotozoal action of ascofuranone. The agent composition comprising an ascofuranone and the alkaloid having the indole skeleton and a pharmaceutically acceptable carrier is used in order to prevent and treat diseases for human or animals other than human caused by protozoans.
