PPROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a waste cleaning method in wet type zinc refinement wherein copper arsenide-containing residue produced in a treatment process for Zn residue can be effectively utilized. PSOLUTION: In the waste cleaning method in wet type zinc refinement where metal ions nobler than Zn are reduced using Zn dust, the concentration of Co and the concentration of Ni in the liquid are both reduced to 10 ppb by adding a copper arsenide substance, preferably a copper arsenide substance in which the grade of Fe is 1 mass%. The copper arsenide-containing substance to be added can be obtained by subjecting copper arsenide-containing residue produced in an arsenic removal stage of a hematite process to acid cleaning in an acidic solution containing sulfuric acid in such a manner that the stirring rate and stirring time are controlled, so as to regulate the leaching ratio of Fe to 70% and the leaching ratio of As to 40%.
