SOLUTION: This method for removing mercury contained in the waste such as the fluorescent tube or the mercury cell containing mercury is performed by mixing and stirring an additive such as a sulfide or a chloride of iron with the waste such as fluorescent tube or the mercury cell containing mercury, and heating to 200-400 deg.C.
