To perform a full functional control of the entire wellhead system, the automatic controller of an adjustable electric downhole electric submersible pump (ESP) works in conjunction with the logic solver of the protection system, special pressure sensors and a surface safety shut-off valve (SSV) . The method includes the step of using multiple pressure sensors to monitor wellhead pressure during normal operation and while monitoring the full stroke of the safety shut-off valve (SSV), also includes the step of adjusting the speed of the downhole electric submersible pump (ESP) while monitoring to maintain the pressure in the pipeline within the specified safe range. This wellhead pipeline protection system and method of its implementation use an automatic downhole electric submersible pump speed controller (ESP) and protection system logic solver (SLS) to ensure that hazardous pressure levels are not reached and full functional safety control of the wellhead system is provided wells.
