A horizontal type reactor in a pyrolysis system is provided, which consumes less energy and is cost efficient. The waste material used in pyrolysis is shredded, and thereafter the shredded material is dried using hot and clean air to remove moisture. The heat energy used for drying is derived from spent flue gas using heat exchanger. Further, multi-gate feeding system that is configured to operate in a logical sequence is provided with push pedals to feed materials continuously and also prevents any pyrolysis gas from escaping through the feeding system. Furthermore, while taking out ash from the pyrolysis reactor continuously, the embodiments prevent unburnt material from entering into the ash collection chamber by means of a stopper ring, thereby preventing toxic, hydrocarbon gas from escaping through the discharge port of ash collection system.
