An immunogen which is a polyamino acid which incorporates into the same molecule B-cell epitopes of APP (amyloid precursor protein) and/or Aß (beta amyloid) so that the polyamino acid reacts to the same extent as does APP or Aß with a polyclonal serum raised against APP or Aß, and at least one foreign T-helper epitope (TH epitope), and which contains the at least one foreign TH epitope and a TH epitope and a sequence of APP/Aß which has been mutated so as to destroy all subsequences of SEQ ID NO: 2 that binds productively initiating a T-cell response.
