A shearer's support arrangement (100) configured and arranged for use by a shearer. The arrangement includes a mounting arm and a shearing support frame (53). The mounting arm has a mounting means (2), an inner arm (3), an outer arm (9) and a shearing support mounting means (11, 13). The inner arm (3) has an inner end and an outer end, the inner end being pivotally connected to the mounting means (2) via a first pivot joint (4) such as to allow the inner arm (3) to pivot about the first pivot joint (4) in a substantially horizontal plane. The outer arm (9) has an inner end and an outer end, the inner end of the outer arm (9) being pivotally connected to the outer end of the inner arm (3) via a second pivot joint (7) such as to allow the outer arm (9) to pivot relative to the inner arm (4) about the second joint (7) in a substantially horizontal plane. The shearing support mounting means (11, 13) depends from the outer end of the outer arm (9). The shearing support frame (53) includes means (51) configured to engage with the shearing support mounting means (11, 13) to mount the shearing support frame (53) to the mounting arm and a shearing support (55) configured, in use, to provide support to a shearer's upper body when the shearer is leaning forward over the shearing support. Additionally there may be a stop (15) that prevents the inner (3) and outer (9) arms from entering a parallel alignment. The inner (3) and outer (9) arms may also have a means to enable the relative position of the outer end of the outer arm and the outer end of the inner arm to be adjusted.
