Peptidomimetic protease inhibitors particular for the NS3 protease of Hepatitis C and act synergistically with anti-Hepatitis C compounds

Disclosed are the preparation and synthesis of peptidomimetic compounds of formula I, and use thereof in the manufacture of medicament of anti-viral pharmaceuticals. Particularly these peptidomimetic compounds are serine protease inhibitors and more particularly are hepatitis C virus NS3 protease inhibitors. Functional groups R1--R9 and Nitrogen-containing ring structures are described within. The pharmaceutical compound described herein comprises of a hepatitis C virus NS3 protease inhibitor of formula I and further comprising a compound having anti-hepatitis C virus activity.
