A device (100) for emergency transport of pediatric patients in a safe andefficient manner. The device (100) includes a frame (110, 115) and anadjustable restraining belt assembly (200) to hold pediatric patients ofvarying sizes. The device (100) also includes a hinge assembly (300) thatcontrols the relative rotation of portions of the frame (110, 115). A clampassembly (400) enables the device (100) to snap or press into releasable,locking engagement with a rail of a conventional transport device, such as astretcher when in use or an interior mounting surface of an ambulance whenbeing stored. The clamp (400) includes a width accommodation feature and auniversality feature, which enable the device (100) to secure to objects ofvarying shapes and widths.
