The present invention provides a device for predicting prognosis of a patientwho undergoes PEG, which allows a doctor to obtain predictive resultssufficient tojudge whether or not to perform the PEG (percutaneous endoscopic gastrostomy)for thepatient. This device includes: a prognosis prediction expression storagesection 14 thatstores a prognosis prediction expression, the prognosis prediction expressionbeingcalculated by applying prediction input factors and prediction output factorsabout afirst patient who already underwent the PEG, to ANN (artificial neuralnetwork); and aprocessing section 16 that inputs diagnosis input factors about a secondpatient, forjudging whether or not to perform the PEG on the second patient, calculatesdiagnosisoutput factors in response to the diagnosis input factors by referring to theprognosisprediction expression stored in the prognosis prediction expression storagesection andthen outputs the calculated diagnosis output factors.
