PURPOSE: A security method and an apparatus related mobile terminal security capability in a mobile telecommunication system are provided to improve a weak point in security capacity transmission of the terminal by managing middle attack by an Intermediate man.;CONSTITUTION: An MME(Mobility Management Entity) selects a security algorithm used in a security procedure(207). An eNB compares the received UE security algorithm information and the information received from the MME and verifies the capacity of UE security(211). The eNB selects an AS security algorithm from the list of algorithm allowed to be used by network management(212). ENB sends the AS- SMC(Security Mode Command) message to the UE(213).
