PURPOSE: A system and a method for performing optical navigation using enhanced frames of image data are provided to properly perform a tracking operation for the relative movement of an optical mouse for a target surface by removing a space noise pattern in a frame of image data on a target surface.;CONSTITUTION: A spatial noise pattern estimation module(220) generates a spatial noise pattern estimation value of a spatial noise pattern in a frame through at least some of a frame of image data, and the spatial noise pattern is generated resulting from the contamination of components of an optical navigation system(100).
