PURPOSE: Navigation system and method for exchanging the location information with a messenger function are provided to enable each of a group of vehicles to exchange the location information of each vehicle with a messenger to be able to recognize the location information function by displaying the location of the vehicles together. CONSTITUTION: A navigation system for exchanging the location information with a messenger function comprises a navigation terminal 1(100), a messenger server(200), a navigation terminal 2(300) and a network terminal 2(400). The navigation terminal 1 has a network communications function and a messenger function. The navigation terminal 1 comprises a GPS module(110), a map database(120), an output module(130), an input module(140), a communications module(150) and a control module(160). A messenger program is installed in the messenger server. The messenger server relays the receiving/transmitting of the conversation data or the information among the navigation terminal 1, the navigation terminal 2 and the network terminal. The navigation terminal 2 comprises the same configuration to the navigation terminal 1. The navigation terminal 2 receives/transmits the conversation data or the information to the navigation terminal 1. The messenger program is installed in the network terminal. Through the internet or a wireless network, the network terminal is possible to receive/transmit the conversation data or the information to the messenger server.
