The device (20) has coaxial engaging wheels (7, 17) coupled to each other in rotation along a single axial direction through respective coupling elements e.g. Breguet teeth (21, 22), arranged on wheel sides facing each other. One of the engaging wheels is moved in the axial direction and biased by a return spring (26). The engaging wheel is fixed on a sliding axle (18) that is rotatably mounted and slid in fixed bearings (24, 25). The spring includes an elastic blade supporting against an end of the sliding axle. An independent claim is also included for a watch movement including a remounting gear system in which a disengaging device is mounted.
