The device has a spacer inserted into a hollow space. The spacer has periphery that lies at a component. The spacer is formed form multiple stacked elements (1) using a yoke-like retaining device. The stacked elements are provided with same thickness and permanently stacked adjacent to each other. The stacked elements have recesses serving as insertion elements (7) at side surfaces (3) and as bushes at rearward side surfaces for the insertion elements. The stacked elements are produced from steel.
