The method involves receiving part of acoustic signal, emitted from sound source of calibration unit with help of a calibration microphone provided in the calibration unit. The position of two measuring microphones (3) is determined relative to calibration unit taking as base of the difference between the duration of another part of the acoustic signal from the sound source of the calibration unit. An independent claim is included for an arrangement for calibration of a microphone array.
