The system (1) has a force transducer (2) made from magnetoelastic material, and a measuring unit. The unit has a permanent magnet that is designed as diametrically magnetized body, and a magnetic field sensor (5) that is designed as a Hall sensor. The measuring unit is arranged on the force transducer such that the permanent magnet forms a magnetic circuit with the force transducer. The magnetic field sensor detects a null signal, in an unloaded condition of the force transducer, and detects a load signal deviating from the null signal, in a loaded condition of the force transducer. An independent claim is also included for a method for measuring force.
