The break open and dressing device comprises two supports (1,2) which are connected with each other. A deflection roller (7) or a hoist is mounted in the area of the joint (3) of the two supports. The supports stay below on the ground and are supported on a firm object. The animals are lifted between the supports. The supports are made from metal profiles such as round pipe, square pipe or rectangular pipe of steel or aluminum. The supports are made of wood with quadratic or rectangular cross section.
