The process for operating a biogas plant (2) in case of failure of a fixedly installed biogas consumer with a fixedly installed heating circuit, comprises readily keeping a movable biogas-emergency burner for the biogas plants as movable biogas-emergency heating device (1) with a biogas-burner, a heating boiler and a boiler-heat exchanger in traffic-technically well attainable periphery of the biogas plants, and transporting the movable biogas-emergency heating device to the corresponding biogas plant and then placing in their vicinity in case of failure of the installed biogas consumer. The process for operating a biogas plant (2) in case of failure of a fixedly installed biogas consumer with a fixedly installed heating circuit, comprises readily keeping a movable biogas-emergency burner for the biogas plants as movable biogas-emergency heating device (1) with a biogas-burner, a heating boiler and a boiler-heat exchanger in traffic-technically well attainable periphery of the biogas plants, transporting the movable biogas-emergency heating device to the corresponding biogas plant and then placing in their vicinity in the case of failure of the fixedly installed biogas consumer, locking a fixedly installed biogas-supply pipe for fixedly installed biogas consumer, displacing an emergency-biogas pipe between the biogas-emergency heating device and the biogas-supply pipe for biogas-feeding of the biogas burner, and displacing emergency fluid pipelines between the biogas-emergency heating device and the fixedly installed consumer-heating circuit as flow and return lines for direct or indirect flow connection between the boiler-heat exchanger and the consumer-heating circuit. After placing the movable biogas-emergency heating device and after displacing and connecting the projecting lines, the assigned biogas burner are ignited and the biogas developed in the biogas plant is burnt and is efficiently used by feeding heat into the consumer-heating circuit until the failure situation is repaired. An independent claim is included for a biogas plant.
