Black tinted high quartz mixed crystals-containing glass ceramic from the lithium aluminum silicate system and coloring components, is claimed, where: the ceramic has a transmission of less than 1% at a wavelength of less than 630 nm at a thickness of 4 mm; the coloring components contain 1.5-35 wt.% of titanium dioxide, 0.01-0.3 wt.% of iron oxide, and 0.003-0.7 wt.% of vanadium pentoxide; and the ceramic has a crystal phase portion of greater than 70 wt.%; and a size of the residual glass phase wedge of at least 50 nm.
