The device comprises a decoupling means for decoupling process beam (6) from an area of an interaction zone between a laser beam (3) and a workpiece (4), a filter means for filtering the process beam for producing a diagnose radiation, and a sensor means for detecting the diagnose radiation. The filter means comprises a splitting means (8) for splitting the process beam in spectral regions, a mechanical or optical blocking means for blocking spectral regions (9), and/or a uniting means for joining together the non-blocked spectral regions. The device comprises a decoupling means for decoupling process beam (6) from an area of an interaction zone between a laser beam (3) and a workpiece (4), a filter means for filtering the process beam for producing a diagnose radiation, and a sensor means for detecting the diagnose radiation. The filter means comprises a splitting means (8) for splitting the process beam in spectral regions, a mechanical or optical blocking means for blocking spectral regions (9), and/or a uniting means for joining together the non-blocked spectral regions. The splitting means comprises a prism or a diffraction grid and the uniting means comprises a prism or a diffraction grid or optical fibers. Optical element or different optical elements are intended as the splitting means and as the joining means. The device further comprises a first focusing means for focusing the process beam on the blocking means and/or collimation means for parallelizing non-blocked spectral regions and/or a second focusing means for focusing the parallelized diagnose radiation on the sensor means. A photodiode is equipped as sensor means. The sensor means are connected with an evaluator. The filter means are formed as tunable optical band-pass filter. Independent claims are included for: (1) a laser welding or laser cutting device; and (2) a method for monitoring and/or controlling and/or regulation of a laser welding- or laser cutting process.
