The arrangement has a camera (10) e.g. stereo camera, detecting images of a monitoring region (2). An evaluation- and control unit (14) digitally evaluates an image sequence with images for determination of an optical flow. The evaluation- and control unit evaluates information for movement of vehicles (3.1, 3.2) in the region from the determined flow. The evaluation- and control unit is integrated in the camera and determines the flow with a vector field, which indicates two dimensional movement in the image sequence in a form of flow vectors for an image point of the vehicles.
