The method involves using an initial three dimensional model of a static environment created from map data. The initial three dimensional model is extended for a running period as an actual three-dimensional module at a dynamic object (3). An image of object detection sensors is projected from the actual three-dimensional module of an environment. The projected image of the object detection sensors is realized with an actual detected image of the object detection sensors. The actual three-dimensional module of the environment is kept based on adjustments. Independent claims are also included for the following: (1) a computer program comprising a program code medium to execute a method for detecting objects of a surrounding of a motor vehicle (2) a computer program product comprising a program code medium to execute a method for detecting objects of a surrounding of a motor vehicle (3) a driver assistance system device for a motor vehicle, comprising object detection sensors.
