The parking brake has an operating device operated by a driver for, particularly automatic, release of the parking brake by available defined sensor- or control input signals to a control device. An operating state signal of the operating device, evaluates a driving brake, a driving brake sensor and an ignition current circuit. The parking brake is only released in missing driving brake sensor signal, when ignition current circuit is disconnected directly.
