The system to display the traffic situation, while there is a vehicle interval setting using an adaptive cruise control (ACC), shows the object (5) in front as a situation display. The display gives a perspective view of the road lane (4) and the object as seen in front of the vehicle. On detection of an additional object (6), relevant to distance control, that is also shown on the situation display.
