The plant has a rotor for conversion of kinetic energy into a mechanical rotating motion, and a generator driven by the rotor for production of electricity. An electric rectifier, intermediate circuit and an inverter are provided for conversion of three phase alternating current of primary frequency, produced by the generator, into a three phase alternating current of a preset secondary frequency, which is different from a main supply frequency used in a public power supply system at an installation site of the plant.
