The mixer has a mixer unit (407) for mixing a received signal (411) or a signal derived from the received signal with a local oscillator signal (404) and for producing a mixer signal (414). Another mixer unit (408) mixes a cross talk signal with the local oscillator signal and produces another mixer signal (421). The cross talk signal is developed based on mixer-internal cross talk effects of the local oscillator signal. A difference amplifier (422) produces a difference signal (423) from the mixer signals, and the former mixer unit is provided with a mixer input. Independent claims are also included for the following: (1) a radar unit comprising a transmission branch (2) a method for reducing disturbance signal components in a receiving branch of the radar unit.
