The electron emitter (10) has an evacuated housing (1) with a radiation outlet window (6) covered by a window (8) for the permeable electron beam. The window is provided for removing the heat generated from the impinging electron beams. The window is made of a high heat dissipating material, which includes highly ordered pyrolytic graphite. The window is coupled with two heat dissipating mediums, where the latter heat dissipating medium has a heat conductor (14) made of copper, aluminum or other thermally conductive metal alloy.
