The test stand has a dynamometer (10) with an electric machine (11) having a stator (13) and a rotor (12), and a shaft extension (19) attached to the rotor. An adapter (25) is connected with the shaft extension, and a device under test and/or a measuring flange and/or a torque measuring device are fastened at a connecting surface (20) of the adapter. The shaft extension has an external diameter (d19) that corresponds to 0.5 times of an external diameter (d17) of an air gap (17) formed between the stator and the rotor.
