The storage container has a discharge element (138). The discharge element has an inlet port arranged in the container interior space, an outlet port arranged in a discharge area (126) and a discharge channel connected to the inlet port and the outlet port. Independent claims are also included for the following: (1) a system for inserting a pollutant-decreasing medium, particularly a reducing agent or a reducing agent precursor in an exhaust gas, particularly in an exhaust gas tract of a motor vehicle; and (2) a method for preventing freezing-conditioned damages of the storage container of the system.
